The 1998-1999 season was the milestone year where Manchester United became the first English team to win The Treble – winning the national league (The Premier League), the national cup (FA Cup), and UEFA Champions League. They did so without having won anything the year before.

The team was coached by legendary Alex Ferguson and included many noteworthy players who have since also become Mancher United Legends – including Peter Schmeichel, Gary Neville, Jaap Stam, Andy Cole, Ryan Gigs, Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Roy Keane and, of course, David Beckham.

Many regard the Treble as manager Alex Ferguson’s greatest achievement with the Red Devils. As a recognition of his success, he was also awarded knighthood and given the title of Sir. Additionally, David Beckham won the  UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award, and was runner-up to Rivaldo for 1999’s Ballon d’Or and FIFA World Player of the Year awards.

The Home jersey is characterized by the classical Manchester United red and white Red Devil look and it quickly became the world’s best-selling replica sports shirt of all time. The sponsor was Sharp, a Japanese electronics company had a factory in the Newton Heath area of Manchester, which had their name written in white letters across the chest. Sharp is an iconic sponsor in Manchester United history and sponsored the club from 1982 to 2000. The shirt was the last before Sharp was replaced by Vodafone as main sponsor in 2000.
